Prestige, influence, power vs. Equality

Requires acknowlegement of our differences, our different strengths, our different needs, our different hopes, but also requires a level playing field for each person, based on access to and ability to fully exploit a guaranteed space of one´s own, with supportive community around to help, but not to hinder, and guaranteed access to food, water and health care in that space. This can only work in the context of a fully cooperative society, where competition is permitted only from an initial base of having the basic needs of each person met, with equal preparation beforehand. So power, prestige, influence, in a system where a small few have hoarded these for themselves, and are loathe to share, does, as Proudhon commented, come based upon oppression. The problem is how to gain the needed influence, posthumous if necessary, to alter the entire system. This is not a goal for one lifetime, nor for one person, but some overarching vision needs to be put forth that can unite the diverse competing ...
