self-defense without aggresivity?
Feb. 22nd, 2016 03:28 pmAs for my own random thoughts, it struck me today that perhaps we could follow the model of Switzerland, as every Swiss adult is also a trained defender of the land as well, performing military service each year. Yet the Swiss military is limited to defence of it's own geographical area, with what seems to be a very small yet well-designed defense budget with good plans for using the highways as runways if attacked, and local area citizen defense units organised and trained. So they have a military which is adequate for enforcing the famous Swiss neutrality, but not for offense. Seems more balanced.
